The Memphis Grizzlies have re-signed restricted free agent guard De’Anthony Melton to a 4-year, $35 million deal, according to a report from The Athletic.
The 22-year-old Melton has two seasons under his belt, averaging 6.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists in those contests. He played his rookie season with the Phoenix Suns, who then traded him to the Grizzlies before his sophomore campaign.
Melton primarily served a bench role last season, starting eight of 60 games. He finished with 7.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
The Grizzlies view Melton as part of a young core going forward that includes Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks, all of whom are now under contract past 2022.
